Irons would meet fierce January King signing issues

West Ham will have fierce competition and few funds to tempt Josh King to the club in January.

There have been suggestions that’s the plan after the club restructured its deal to take Said Benrahma last week.

The King thinking appears to be that with the Bournemouth striker just six months away from becoming a free agent it will be a good time to pounce and that this may have been in David Moyes’ mind when going for the former Brentford playmaker.

However, with an obligation to buy Benrahma at the end of the loan period, the money which some believe could be spent on King will remain required for the winger.

There’s also the fact that King remains a likely target for Everton and Aston Villa along with an unnamed European Champions Cup qualifying side.

Should he choose to he could sign a pre-contract with the unnamed Serie A outfit in January or remain t until the summer when he is out of contract before joining a new club.

That scenario would allow him to improve his personal terms on the back of no transfer fee being involved.
