West Ham are this morning being linked with a move for Atletico Madrid hardman midfielder Mario Suarez.
The 27 year old has attracted attention from a number of clubs but his boss Diego Simeone insists the player will be going nowhere.
However, the Hammers apparent interest continues to be reported although sources inside the club remain cool on the link.
One told ClaretandHugh: “Midfield is not the priority area at the moment. Most people understand we are looking at the back.
“This one keeps popping up but it sounds like silly season stuff.”
Some sources are reporting that the player could be on his way to Arsenal and Simeone is quoted as saying: ” “What would we do if an important offer came in for him? You’d have to ask [sporting directors] Jose Luis Caminero and Andrea Berta.”
