West Ham have once again been linked with Algeria and Sporting CP’s star striker Islam Slimani.
This season, the 27-year-old Slimani has made 16 appearances for Sporting scoring nine goals to become Sporting’s top striker.
Many call him the “best striker in Portugal, playing with the head” and he is been regularly linked with the Hammers over the last 12 months with rumours he has been scouted as a potential Iron for a long time.
The Algerian striker has a buy-out clause around £21m and it’s known that Sporting had rejected a £10.5m offer from an English Premier League club in the last summer transfer window.
As if we have said before and we will say it again, West Ham have not got £21m to spend on a player in the January transfer window and we are up to our limit on wages on Financial Fair Play so this rumour is a really non starter as far as we are concerned.
