The transfer to bring Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka to West Ham United is not completed, as some sources are suggesting.

However, Hammers fans shouldn’t be too worried because the deal is understood to be progressing well, with the player himself having agreed to personal terms with the Hammers.

A top West Ham source told Claret & Hugh last week that there was a significant difference between the wages on offer from West Ham and what the player was currently earning at Manchester United. However, it now seems a compromise has been reached, and the player is happy to move back to London.

All that remains is for the transfer fee to be agreed upon, and it is understood that the two clubs are not far apart in their valuation. Manchester United has briefed Sky Sports News in Germany that they expect the transfer of Wan-Bissaka to West Ham to go through imminently, although contrary to reports, a medical has not yet been booked.

The former Palace defender is currently on the West Coast of America with his Manchester United teammates, but the whole squad is flying to the East Coast on Friday. Therefore, it may make more logistical sense for the player to have his medical in the US before meeting up with the Hammers squad.

This leaves it looking very much like our bidding on Masraoui was tactical. We were always after either Walker Peters or Wan Bissaka whichever one became realistically priced first.

….that’s exactly what I thought about our alleged interest in the German striker as soon as it was reported.

A 31 year old German striker – who would have thought! Antonio, Ings, Cresswell, Fabianski perhaps we’re entering a veteran’s 5-aside league shame we didn’t keep Oggy.
