ITK Romano rules out Hammers signing

ITK Fabrizio Romano looks to have ruled the Hammers out of signing Chelsea’s Ian Maatsen.

ITK Romano rules out Hammers signing

We have been linked with the player for several months and our need in the position is clear with Aaron Cresswell likely to be released this summer.

Emerson has done brilliantly well this season but the Hammers are looking right across the back line where there are several problems in all areas.

Maatsen had been strongly fancied by the Hammers but according to ITK Fabrizio Romana there seems little chance of theplayer arriving in the east end

Writing in his Daily Briefing  he claimed that Borussia Dortmund has sent an official proposal to Chelsea for the player yesterday.

He added that a loan bid has now been submitted  and that more details are soon to be clarified between the two clubs. He adds that Maatsen is keen on the move and things are now at an advanced stage.

It’s not impossible that the Hammers will come back in of course but the Dutchman who started his career at Feyenoord before moving to Sparta Rotterdam now looks set for a switch to Germany.

It remains to be seen whether the Hammers will now follow up on Bristol City’s Cameron Pring who was involved in the match against us yesterday.

He has been a regular in the Robins side but thus far this season has picked up five yellow cards – one against the Irons.
