Michail Antonio is the clear winner of the latest CandH poll to discover the fans favourite of the season so far.
The brilliant Michail has led the Christmas Day vote from the start until the end. increasing his advantage as it went into the last two hours.
In the end the club’s key player and top scorer grabbed just over 53 per cent of the poll with 504 votes.
Pedro Obiang took second place with 210 votes (22 per cent) and Winston Reid way back in third having collected 110 voted (11.71 pc)
The rest were absolutely nowhere with Dimi Payet collecting only 15 more votes in the last two hours to take his share of the vote to 3.73 (35 votes) and finish in fourth place.
Fans are clearly not watching his actual performances. Watch him for 90 mins. Against Hull he made one great lung-busting run and an excellent dive for the penalty. That was it. The rest of the time he strolled around with his chest puffed out, giving out hospital passes left, right and centee, being dispossesed and running blindly into trouble. Of course no-one dares to point out out the tbrow-in that he threw directly out for another tbrow-in.
There’s a bit of the Emperor’s new clothes about Antonio going on here. No-one dares to criticise. Yes, of course he’s our top scorer and where would we be without his goals etc etc? And he should recognised for that. But let’s not just heap unchallenged praise on a player whose attitude is just not at the races.
Well deserved Michail!
