Julen Lopetegui arrived at the West Ham training ground this morning and is set to meet with club bosses to decide his future.

The news was broken by Hammers ITK ExWHU Employee, who has excellent training ground contacts. This is a story expected to move very quickly.

The meeting is believed to be a virtual ‘Zoom’-style conference call, as several West Ham board members are currently out of town.

There are rumours that some academy coaches have been asked to take training today, although it must be stressed that these claims are completely unsubstantiated. It is far more likely that training will be taken by Lopetegui’s staff as the club look to limit disruption.

Reading between the lines, it seems increasingly likely that Lopetegui will lose his job as West Ham head coach at some point today.

As always, we’ll keep you updated on proceedings and will endeavour to speak to our top source at the club later to provide the latest developments.

Hammers Chat my first game was West Ham 10-0 Bury . . . seriously!
We than went and bought Bury's central defender 😬⚒️ Irons

Started Hammers Chat alongside my partner in crime Geo back in 2014 and brough in to Claret & Hugh by my old mate Hughie to produce videos a couple of years later.

Give West Ham opinions on Sky Sports News and even did a bit of moonlighting on BBC Football Focus.

Sometimes feature on BBC Radio 5 Live and once ate a biscuit in Tony Gales shed.

Connoisseur of salted caramel doughnuts and I love a Sloppy Giuseppe pizza although I'm slightly suspicious where the name came from.

When I'm not moaning about West Ham I can be found walking a dog that looks like a sheep and tinkering with pinball machines.

Michael Carrick should be given the job came up through the academy he is west ham through and through plays the right football and has worked miracles on no funds for Middlesbrough it’s a no brainer even for sullivan to see

  • Mark johnson says:

just heard, Potter untill end of season with an option of 2 more depending on how it goes.

  • John Ayris says:

It cannot come too soon, it should have happened after the Everton game at the start of the two week international break. We never get anything right, lets just hope that it is the chop and not must win against Wolves nonsense.

Put Noble in charge with the academy coaches until a permanent appointment can be made.

  • Steve Harris says:

Hope he’s gone by the end of the day. Would rather not have Potter but would take almost anyone.

  • Mark johnson says:

    He’s been sacked

  • Kenny Irons says:

Many thanks for the update, Gonzo 👍
Steve Cooper ??? stop it ! Cheap and out of work, fits the Sullivan brief, though…….
If we do that I’m Leyton Orient going forward…….

  • Matt says:

✈️🧳🇪🇸 credit to the fans at Leicester for enforcing this much need change!

Disastrous appointment that made 2024 along with Moyes a horrendous year of misery and despair.

The next coach has to aligned with Tim. At interview stage style of play, team formation, tactics and the type of players required must be discussed if we are to achieve success.

Hoping the delay was due to discussions with Stuttgart so we can appoint Hoeness! Give us a coach where we can dare to dream instead of a false dawn.

Most of the names linked via C&H suggest we might get a slight upgrade but another reactive response rather than an exciting vision and strategy.

    • AndyB says:

Hoeness would be the dream come true.

The reality though will most likely result in yet another underwhelming replacement that does not require a release clause.

    • John says:

I am been told through my source that its potter on a short term contract til end of season then to be reviewed then

  • Dean hodges says:

Hi gonzo, just seen ex say that sulli is a big fan of Steve cooper! God help them if the appoint him as the fans will go off big time, but in all honesty can any of us say we’d be surprised if we have another dull uninspired manager foisted upon us by our sear leader?

    • AndyB says:

It depends who is interviewing and appoints the next coach!

Not holding my breath as the criteria of free and available tends to mean mediocre uninspiring candidates being lined.
