Breaking news suggests that Aston Villa have rejected West Ham’s latest substantial transfer offer for striker Jhon Duran. The Hammers made their third bid, approaching £40 million, yesterday afternoon and were confident that the proposal would be accepted.

It is believed that personal terms of £90k per week have been agreed with the Colombian striker, who was planning to travel for his West Ham medical this weekend.

West Ham are understood to be incredibly frustrated by this latest turn of events. The club believes they have put together a package that would provide the Midlands club with the return they demanded for the player.

West Ham now face a significant decision on whether to increase their offer. The West Ham Way reports that the club may go back with a final bid. However, we are now approaching the £42 million that the Hammers paid Frankfurt for Sébastien Haller.

It’s quite clear that if the deal for Duran is completed, it will make him the second-biggest transfer in West Ham’s history.

Just because you wear the same colour shirt you thing we are your feeder club and should sell you players at a reduced price, stop behaving like a cockney market trader, if you want to improve on the dross you currently have you have to pay the price, bunch of tight whingers.

  • Brent says:

ABSOLUTE NONSENSE!! Fake news!!! Villa would accept 40 Million for Duran! This article is just stirring up ill feelings! Duran wants to play for West Ham – Villa are happy to sell him for 40 mil he has massive potential such a talented young striker this is obviously fake news!!!

  • Terry says:

Can all the Villa fans just get off of a West Ham fans site, you lot must lead such boring lives to be following other clubs sites. COYI ⚒⚒⚒

  • Martin says:

40m for me sounds right, how ever, the Hammers are getting a player who clearly throws his toys out the Pram when things don’t go his own way.
He will let you down, and will be playing abroad by 2026.
Shame, cause the player clearly has ability but his ego will be his down fall
    UTV

  • Morkus says:

Also what back up player to Watkins do Villa have that’s better than Duran

  • Morkus says:

    Pay the money
But only if they take Ings back along with his ridiculous wages in exchange

  • Haytham alyassin says:

Get IVAN TONEY AND LET ASTON VILLA ENJOY THE LOSS

  • John Ayris says:

    Ex has said…

‘We will explore other options today”

There are other options, looks like that’s what’s happening seems like it will suit most here.

  • Kip says:

Let the w* keep him …he will go on strike and cause them more problems….just what they need ..looking forward to seeing you lot in champions league…🤣🤣🤣

    • Bob says:

      Really!?!?

    • Andy_Villa_10 says:

      Why the harshness?

I understand you are frustrated, but be frustrated at your own club for attempting to shop where your funds do not stretch.

And Duran will not go on strike or cause Villa problems.

He has been twerking in Chelseas direction for 12 months & still played ok when he came on for Watkins, so absolutely NOTHING will change for Villa if he stays at the club.

  • Bernard Palmer says:

Out of all the players we have bid for Duran is the only player who has said he wants to play for West Ham and not had he’s head turned from the start,he fits the age the club are aiming for so if we really want him get him other wise we will more than likely buy older players and be the oldest average age in the premiership again.I had mixed feelings about Moyes but I do believe he has left us in a bad state we all these older players

    • Justin says:

To be fair, he did say the same about Chelsea too.
Villa are also in a difficult situation with him. What are they supposed to do – drop/sell Watkins so that Duran can play? He knew he was second choice when he joined.

  • Mogg says:

Everyone has an opinion here but we don’t know what’s going on between the clubs. Whatever will be will be. If we get him, hopefully he works out. If we don’t get him, I’m sure they have other potential targets.

  • Spindrift says:

Let’s not over-simplify it. Is it about the fee, or the structure of the payments?

If we’re offering, say, £10m upfront, and then £30m over the course of a five-year contract, you could understand why Villa might reject it.

These days it’s almost never simply a case of paying the full wedge upfront.

  • Bernard Palmer says:

    I’m obviously talking about Duran

  • Bernard Palmer says:

Out of all the players we seem to have bid for there’s only one player who as said he wants to join us throughout regardless of getting he’s head turned elsewhere I think we obviously want him so pay the money and get it done

  • Vasilis the Greek Hammer says:

40 millions?thats craszy, its a fortune and for what?why on earth dont the scouts look for other leagues where players are so much cheaper…isnt that the scouts job??

  • Smithy says:

Orford under Unai Emery will be a £100m player in the next 2-3 years. Villa are ridiculous wheeler dealers 😭

  • Dave says:

I can’t honestly believe you lot think that Toney will want to join you 😂😂 you’re having a bubble, never mind blowing em!

  • Justin says:

The headline on this story: ‘Villa Reject Hammers Massive £40 Transfer Bid’ is misleading. If WH had offered 40 million he would be a WH player by now. They haven’t and so Villa can’t have rejected it.

  • Bernard Palmer says:

I don’t wish harm on Watkins but if he gets injured I hope Duran refuses to play because not only are Villa taking the pee they are deliberately stopping a young lad wanting he’s move and let him rot on the bench not good for club or player. I think it’s time for West Ham to let us know what is going on.

    • Little Timmy Bubble blower says:

The only thing wrong with your comment mate, is everything! That will not happen 😂

  • DJ says:

    Villa is taking the p*..
The player doesn’t want to be there and will be disruptive and we are playing into their hands offering too much money and also a very good prospect in Orford probably disappointing the young lad too.
Just walk away until the final day of transfer .
Get Toney in if we can and pay the money.
Proved quality goalscorer and less hassle .
    Villa can do one.
We have a good team let’s not panic buy .
Get a CB in and Bassaka if we can ..
Summerville will also be a good signing if we don’t get fully bent over price wise …

  • vince says:

Walk away, wanted the player but villa are taking liberties now

    • Justin says:

Is wanting the price you always asked for taking liberties? I’d like to buy a new house but I can’t afford it – are the owners ‘taking liberties’ because they won’t reduce the price to what I would I would like to pay?

      • vince says:

West ham have offered the 40 , the sticking point is villa want add ons as well. Thats down to villa but thats not something they’re going to get out of west ham and quite rightly so.

  • My left foot says:

Toney wants the spuds or run his contract down. Plus their new striker has just picked up a long term injury so I’d say he is unavailable. We should go back in with £40m bid with no add ons or sell on clause. If they knock it back then give up and find someone else.

  • Dave says:

Make an offer based on what we think he’s worth (£30-35m max) & leave it on the table. Find an alternative or two (like the kid from Atleti or Abraham) & put down the same offer. First to accept gets the £££ (both Atleti & Roma have spent big & will need to sell whatever they say now).

Don’t get drawn into a bidding war especially when we are the only party interested & we know they want rid. Duran will continue to agitate for the move & likely get increasingly disruptive to their squad/build-up.

    • Hammeroo says:

I’m with you on this, Dave. And we definitely should not be putting all our eggs in one basket. Tim needs to up his game perhaps.

    • Andy_Villa_10 says:

      There are other interested parties.

Chelsea, Newcastle, AC Milan, to name a few.

Chelsea agreed the whole deal & then walked away in an effort to get us to lower the price.

I could see them coming back in again at a later date if your boys don’t sign him.

      • vince says:

Oh right so he’ wants game time but newcastle and chelsea want him , do you really think he ll get in their teams .

There’s one show in town , its west ham and at 40 million plus add ons , no thanks , good player but at that price you can keep him.

  • Andy Stone says:

Some feedback from Villa if willing to provide such information i.e. how much is that doggy in your window? If the gap is silly they can enjoy having a deeply unhappy player with an already bad reputation for a poor attitude. I’m sure that will increase his market value massively.

  • Joseph says:

Go put a bid in for Toney that makes a headline……that may make Villa come back but stop putting all our eggs in one basket i mean Neysri was supposedly on the managers list of players he’d like but nothing happened and he went to Besiktas for £15million….so whoever is doing the negotiations for us clearly does not do there homework…..Downes deal they were desperate for the player we want KWP then a straight swap or more money instead we let him go cheap and they still want big money for KWP crazy and amateur way to do business IMO…

    • Hammeroo says:

Are you BennyBoy Baker in disguise? If not then you both need to go back to school for English lessons!

  • Barry'sboots says:

You Hammers make me laugh. We want £40m for Duran – pay it or move on! We obviously value him higher than you.

You say we always want too much. Did you watch Rice in the Euros?? If he is a £100m player, maybe we should hold out for £50m for Duran!!

    • Rog says:

So obviously you wouldn’t want Mbappe at Villa after watching him in the Euros.

    • Kip says:

With respect , Why are you on here…it’s a west ham site…….yes we’re trying to buy a player of you …but why ….yes rice was shit. At the euros….but the rest of the team were good were they ….🤣ffs ??? ..get a grip mate..stay on ur own sites …brummies ..🤣

    • Nathan says:

Did you watch rice at all last season? we should of asked for more.

    • vince says:

Good luck with that , he’s not worth 40 let alone 50 . Youre the ones that seem to have a problem . All west ham seems to be seeing is he’s overpriced at 40 which he is .

  • Martyn Pleasance says:

    He’s an overpriced,untried trouble maker
    W.T.F. are we doing

  • Hammeroo says:

Is this Villa payback for the way Sullivan has mucked about? Getting sick of following this soap opera!

  • Martyn says:

We could get Ivan Toney for this amount and get a better and proven striker who would not upset the dressing room.
    Walk away.

  • Jay says:

Irrespective of the fact that we can’t believe 98% of what is reported online, it is my understanding that Villa are demanding £40m for Duran. The article above states that we have tabled an offer ‘approaching’ £40m. ‘Approaching’ £40m and £40m are certainly not the same thing. For pity’s sake, if we sincerely want the player bid the full £40m. If they do not accept the bid then walk away as Villa would be wasting our time at that point.

  • Ivor Bigun says:

Walk away now….Villa changing the goal posts

    • Justin says:

What goal posts have Villa changed? The price has always been 40 million and hasn’t changed. If that is too much then look at cheaper options.

  • John says:

I agree walk away villa are taking the mick

  • Elwyn Harrison says:

This kid is good, but needs careful managing .Your club either have bottle or don’t.

  • Trevor Brooking walks on water says:

Ivan Toney is fast becoming a more attractive option. Drop Dhuran for him. Villa clearly have plans for Dhuran if they value him at a price north of 40m.

  • John Ayris says:

There comes a point. Table an offer at our valuation and look at other options, there are always other options.

Villas position is that they are not high revenue so they are looking at balancing future books. The player is unsettled. Both things are their problem, let them consider that.

    • Smithy says:

Villa have no problems, WH do as you have no strikers under 30 who can still perform at a decent level. If he stays at the club he may be frustrated but will still perform so that a club comes in for him in the future. At the age of 20 there is zero benefit of downing tools. Sadly both Dhuran and his agent are tools and played all their cards.

  • Dave says:

    Time to leave the room.

  • Kenneth Love says:

Villa always want more for their players than their market value. We didn’t walk away from the Danny Ings deal as we needed forward back up and 15M seems a crazy figure in context to his performances. We could be about to repeat the same mistake and should walk away.

  • David says:

Stop funding Aston Villa again by paying twice value like we did with Ings Toney or David better and cheaper with greedy Villa receiving nothing best outcome

    • Steve Bishop says:

Villa not bothered about selling below the valuation doesn’t make them greedy, it makes West Ham look like Spurs or Del-boy trying to get players “on the cheap”. Villa will receive the asking price (already offered by a Saudi club) if they want to sell. If you don’t want him please walk away.

    • Sid says:

David is bang average, he was easily kept quiet when we played Lille, before seeing him in those games I thought he might be an option but he was poor. Toney isn’t a bad shout but if you won’t pay 40m will you pay the 60m Brentford are insisting on? Honestly pretty sure Villa will soon tell WH to stop wasting our time, Napoli are still interested as are Newcastle so there are other options besides keeping him.

  • weathamsteve says:

Hope Villa come for one of our players.I thought they wanted Joao Felix but had to sell first,so leave them wanting and see how they deal with a player with attitude and getting more frustrated.

    • Smithy says:

Villa don’t care mate, they hold all the cards. There is no interest in Dhuran throwing a fuss as he has 4 years left.on his contract, not performing will make it even harder to get the move. He has tried to mugg Villa off and is paying the consequence of his actions. WH can make it pay by telling the agent and player to take less. All the best for the season. UTV!!

    • Darren says:

Not sure you have any players villa need at the moment

    • Andy_Villa_10 says:

We do not have to sell anybody to buy.

We are almost in profit over our transfers ins &bouts so far.

And we have been dealing with Durans attitude for 12 months while he twerked in Chelseas direction.

Absolutely NOTHING will change for Villa if you don’t sign him.

  • Jordan says:

It feels like villa keep moving the goalposts on this transfer. Call their bluff, move onto Toney and let Duran kick up a stink on their training ground. Good luck to them!

    • Justin Havens says:

Villa have not moved at all. The price has been 40 million from the start. Either pay it or look for someone else. If Villa needed the money they would already have accepted – clearly they don’t.

  • Dave says:

    Ivan Toney, Tammy Abraham etc.
Walk away, they already mugged us for off for Ings, let it go.

    • John Edwards says:

I agree walk away plenty of better cheaper options f*ck ville greedy c*nts hope their season goes pear like Ncastle last season. They didnt manage Europa conference like us so how will they get on with Champions league. What goes around comes around.

      • Justin says:

If there were plenty of better cheaper options you would have thought that WH would have gone for one of them by now. WHs record of going for better cheaper options hasn’t been too good has it?

      • UTV84 says:

        🍋’s mate? 🤣

Why should we sell our players for any less than we value them at? If the shoe was on the other foot, sure you’d want to fleece the purchasing club? You’re trying to sign a talented player who has a shocking attitude, he’s gonna disrupt your dressing room like you wouldn’t believe. £45m + Orford and we’ll consider 👍🏻

        • vince says:

you shouldn’t , just as we shouldn’t buy him if we think he’s overpriced. 35 million was just about acceptable , 40 is taking the piss , hence we should move on and let you deal with having an unhappy player on your books.

          • Andy_Villa_10 says:

‘YOU’ will not be “leaving us” with anything.

We will still have the same player that we had last year, who was twerking in Chelseas direction for 12 months, but still performing when required.

NOTHING will change for Villa if he stays, other than we will have an extra body in the squad to back up Watkins.

Look, I get that you are frustrated, but both clubs are looking after their own respective interests.

            As it should be.

            • vince says:

not frustrated at all , in fact villa seem more obsessed by this than us going by the amount of villa fans posting on here . We ‘ll keep the money and find someone else , you;; keep the player and we al move on.

Not rocket science and really not that different to so many transfers that dont work out. If west ham fans went on every other clubs sites to talk about an overpriced player , we d never have time to be on west ham sites.

Just dont get why villa fans are so obsessed by a transfer that isnt going to happen

      • Steve says:

You are a complete moron. Your vocabulary. Proves that. Villa have improved each season under Emery. We will see how this season goes.

      • Andy_Villa_10 says:

Why the harshness based upon a transfer where both clubs are looking out for their own interests?

I wish West Ham nothing but a positive season.

      • Dave Pea says:

Such anger and abuse is childish, it is no differene to how your club would handle the situation if you were selling a player. As for the way you managed Europa, you didnt have the squad to do well in both the Europa and the Premier league, you chose the Europa, we focussed on the Premier, your reward, you won the Europa Cup, Villa’s reward a place in the Champions league. Its all about how high you set your sights, the last time you won a major European trophy was before England won the World Cup, and judging from your foul mouth that was before you were born. Clubs dont give young promising players away, if your not prepared to spend money to improve your squad at least you can buy plenty more washing up liquid, you keep blowing those pointless bubbles even though they have all burst.

    • John Edwards says:

I agree walk away plenty of better cheaper options f* ville greedy .. hope their season goes pear like Ncastle last season. They didnt manage Europa conference like us so how will they get on with Champions league. What goes around comes around I hope they crumble.

      • Steve Bishop says:

The price has been 40million all along. Just because West Ham keep offering different amounts below the valuation, and smaller sums plus players (that nobody wants), doesn’t make Villa greedy, it makes West Ham look like cheapskates trying Del-boy tactics.

  • Sid says:

Please feel free to walk away, not a problem. And you thought his silly crossed arms would mean you’d get him on the cheap 🤣🤣🤣

    • Ian says:

£40m is ridiculously overpriced, hardly ‘on the cheap’. You bought him for £15m a year ago and he’s done nothing to be worth £40m now. Said all along this lad is way too much of a risk for us to spend this sort of money on. I hope we leave the deal now.

    • vince says:

ERM, we wont be walking away , the club be the ones . Nobody is expecting to get him on the cheap . As for the crossed hammers that was in answer to a question as to whether he was joining Newcastle.

If Villa are happy to keep an unhappy player and lose 40million for transfers then thats down to them .

      • Sid says:

He’s a bit part player however nutty he is he always gives it a go, he’s not going to spit a dummy if he returns. You just know what’s going happen, scores are level with a few mins to go Duran comes on as a sub and scores a screamer! We just don’t yet know who for 🤣🤣
I’m happy for him to stay.

    • Terry says:

Can you post on your own sites as you seem fixated by West Ham

  • Peter says:

After doing the crossed hammers on social media, I don’t know which one is more crazy, Duran or this journo.

I agree with others, this saga is looking a real Dick Emery sketch, Villa’s very own Manuel is laughable, come on Timmy sort it out⚒️🥃

    Time will tell⚒️

  • Ian says:

Nothing to stop us finding bidding and buying another player whilst still being in the hunt here, if another comes off that we’re happy with them so be it. If we want to pay 32 with a max eye on 36 say then leave them with an unhappy player with the chance to go back if we don’t get someone else. With the uproar he’s just caused in the midlands they should snap our hands off at 36

    • Andy_Villa_1- says:

His antics are part of the reason that we are holding out for what we desire or him.

Otherwise we are sending the message out that to get a cheap move, all you have to do is act like a dickhead.

Other examples of young players wanting cheap moves to get regular football, but doing it the right way, are Philogene, Archer, Aaron Ramsey, etc.

All allowed to leave for cheaper prices, along with buyback & sell on options, but their requests were honoured because they did it the right way.

  • Craig says:

Walk away it is to much money and Villa just keep twisting the knife…..that David deal even paying the Agents £10million would be cheaper

  • Lance marsh says:

They could possibly get Toney and Summerville in for the same outlay.

  • Matt Palmer says:

I would love to walk away here but failure to bring in a striker ahead of the start of the season would represent a monumental f*** up for the management.

Villa know this and will extract added value as a result. I personally don’t think he is worth it but there are also not many young strikers that have premiership experience.

Regrettably I would go another few million but only because the cost of not doing so is too high to pay. I cannot watch another season start with a squad lacking such a key player.

We are not weak in the same way in any other position so other requirements or further attacking reinforcements shouldn’t need quite such a premium.

    • Paul Taylor says:

If we’re paying £40m+ let’s make a bid for Ivan Toney proven goal scorer and target man, a quality CF Brentford can always decline but it sends a signal to Villa that we’re prepared to walk away and look elsewhere. Can’t believe Toney is still available which probably indicates a depressed transfer market because of FFP issues and points deductions having an affect.

      • Andy_Villa_10 says:

We already know you can walk away.

But that doesn’t change our valuation of the player.

And the difference between Toneys experience & Durans will be represented within the desired wages.

  • Gary says:

Walk away and leave them with a unhappy player

    • Andy_Villa_10 says:

You say it like its a point of pride that you got one over on Villa if you don’t purchase him.

If you dont purchase him, one of two things will happen.

      One, someone else probably will.

And two, nothing will change for Villa because we have already had Duran making eyelash flutterings at Chelsea for 12 months.

If you do sign him that problem will be transferred to your club if he does well within 6 months. And if he doesn’t, well. Then he wont have done well for you & will be an expensive flop.

And thats not a point of pride from most Villa fans perspective. I will feel for you as I quite like West Ham & some of your fans.

The fact is, you have every right to look after the best interests of your club. Whether thats offering lower fees or walking away.

And Villa have every right to look after our best interests. And that is currently holding out for a lot of money because we are selling a player who has proven that he can play in the Premier League & has a high ceiling potential.

  • Ryan says:

Go get Jonathan David, proven goal record

    • Ian says:

We apparently dropped interest in David yet again due to agent demands.

    • Larry D says:

Hi I’m a villa supporter bye bye Duran good price 40m made a profit he doesn’t want to play for villa anymore.( Let him go.)

  • Ian says:

IF this is actually true we should definitively walk away now. He was overpriced at £35m.
    Let Villa keep him.

    • Ian says:

      *definitely* bloody autocorrect! 😉

    • Johnny43UTV says:

We don’t want him, dream to play for villa, then boyhood dream for Chelsea, oh they didn’t want him because of being a bad Apple! And now West Ham is his preferred choice? Please take him so that we can bring in a team player, he cost £15 million so please AVFC take the frickin bid and buy Joao Felix asap 👍

      • Keith says:

I don’t blame you I’m a Villa fan i don’t want him let him rot in the reserves in fact let train on his own UTV

    • Graham says:

Walk away, they know we badly need a striker and taking advantage.

      • Andrew Noble says:

        greedy villa!!

        • Andy_Villa_10 says:

There is no “greed” in transfer negotiations. There are bids that are acceptable & bids that are not.

You are looking to purchase a footballer & have gone outside of the normal channels to publicly claim it is “too expensive”.

And we have privately told you that “if you don’t like the price then you are welcome to shop elsewhere, because we have no need to sell the kid.”

It’s your club that keeps coming back.

Duran has been twerking in Chelseas direction for 12 months, so it’s not like we aren’t used to him wanting to be in London, whoever the club is.

The issue your club could have if you sign him is Duran twerking back in Chelseas direction after six months, especially if he performs half decently for you.

All Villa are doing is trying to get the best deal for our club over a young player that we have spent development time & money in, who has shown that he can perform at this level & looks like he has high potential, ‘IF’, his mind is right.

Its a 50/50 coin flip regarding that at the moment.

        • Mendax says:

It may come as a surprise but all the other teams in the country are not here to help you do well.Sorry if that comes as a shock

  • Mart says:

    Walk away

    • Jerry Gold says:

Do you think Steinden walks into negotiations with MUG stamped on his forehead?
Villa and Man.U aren’t worth negotiating with. All they do is tie as down for weeks pick our scouts brains and finally steal our ideas then say no to any deal..
Ask yourself why Maguire didn’t go last year and Wan Bissaka won’t this year -Money.Man Utd overpay their players.Villa on the other hand need money to buy and so are trying to rob us for an untried player who is simply TROUBLE.

      • Mendax says:

        So don’t buy him
Why so upset about us not selling “trouble” to you?
(I agree with you on that by the way)
Sounds like we’re doing you a favour

      • Andy_Villa_10 says:

We don’t need to sell to buy at all. We are almost in profit from our current dealings.

As for the scout comment, I am at a loss for words over that nonsense.

Look, I understand that you are frustrated, but take out your anger on your own club for not meeting the demands.

    • DJHammer says:

I quite like Villa, probably something to do with the colours of their kit.
For the life of me, I’d never post on another club blog.
Anyway each to their own I guess.
The player is agitated for a transfer, but I don’t think Hammers are the best fit for him. It’s not up to me, but it’s probably best to move on now.

Same with me & West Ham. Had many a good conversation with West Ham fans while walking away from Villa Park over the years.

Your lot are mostly down to earth normal fans, which is why its good to reach out & talk to fans of other clubs at times, especially when we are having dealings with each other.

Opposition views are often the bedrock of good conversation.

Which is why there are Villa fans on your site discussing a situation that involves Villa.
