West Ham United have announced that Jarrod Bowen has signed a new long-term contract which will keep him at the club until 2030.
It is the news we have all been waiting for of course and coming after the 2-2 draw against Newcastle United is the icing on a nearly perfect day for the club.
Life without Jarrod after losing Declan Rice this summer was unthinkable but it confirms that the club is rising fast for the player to pledge himself to the club for a further seven years
Bowen has become an incredibly important member of the squad with his most magical moment coming when he scored the winner in last season’s Conference Final.
The 26 year old has the best years of his life in front of him and could easily be here until his retirement. He is a thoroughly versatile player and this season so far has scored five goals and assisting two in nine appearances.
With 78 direct goal involvements in 167 games in Claret and Blue, Bowen has become hugely popular among West Ham supporters, and he is looking forward to spending the prime years of his career in east London.
He said: “I’m so pleased to have signed a new long-term contract at West Ham.
“Everyone knows what this club means to me, so committing my future until 2030 means so much to me and my family.
“I’ve loved every minute of my time here. Winning the Europa Conference League in Prague was an amazing moment, scoring the winner in the last minute will be something I’ll cherish forever.
“It’s left us all wanting that feeling again and again – we want to create more memories together, for our fantastic fans, and for this fantastic football club.”
Manager David Moyes is delighted that his No20 has committed his future to the Club.
“We’re delighted Jarrod has agreed a new deal. It’s a brilliant piece of business from the club to tie him down to a new long-term contract,” he said.
“His goal in Prague will live long in the memory for everyone connected to West Ham – it’s given him a platform to go from strength to strength and we’re really reaping the benefits, he’s getting better and better.
“He’s a fantastic boy and an outstanding professional – I’m sure his positive progress will continue over the course of his new contract.”
And Sporting Director Tim Steidten welcomed Bowen’s new contract signing.
“It’s fantastic news,” he said.
“It’s a sign of the strong position the club finds itself in when an England international is committing his long-term future to the football club.
“We’re delighted he’s signed a long-term deal and looking forward to him continuing to flourish at West Ham in the peak years of his career.“
