Jean-Clair Todibo update amid injury fears | West Ham News

ALMOST unnoticed in the VAR-induced frenzy ahead of West Ham’s penalty award just before half time, Jean Clair Todibo hobbled off the pitch and was immediately substituted by Konstantinos Mavropanos.

With half time so close- maybe five minutes away – the consensus amongst commentators was that it must have been a serious problem if ‘JCT’ didn’t struggle through to half time to continue treatment and assessment.

With the games coming thick and fast, the worry for Espírito Santo and for West Ham fans – who saw yet another sloppy, nervy, error – strewn performance by Maximilian Kilman last night – must be that Todibo is ruled out for part or all of January – meaning the old double act of Mavropanos and Kilman will be back together again for the foreseeable, nervy, wobbly future.

West Ham now appear at their most vulnerable defensively with the deadly duo in place. With Todibo replacing Kilman twice in recent weeks, the worst of West Ham’s defensive frailties looked behind them – until Kilman’s penalty gift and jump into his own goal keeper contrived to allow Brighton back into the game.

News from inside Rush Green is worrying: West Ham’s highly placed official was asked if there was any news over the defender’s absence:

No – no doubt a scan later today”.

If the club have fears, they’re keeping their cards very close to their chest and waiting for imagery before pronouncing judgement.

The last thing West Ham need – with one centre back missing already after choosing not to replace Nayef Aguerd following his August sale- is to see their most improved centre-back out for a prolonged period during the relegation battle.

Just Kilman and Mavropanos fit. Then there were two. Those would, indeed, be worrying times inside and out of the London Stadium.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - sometimes- have to admit I have not renewed my season ticket... I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser. Can tell I'm getting old knowing I saw both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old. Magic.

Kilman must never play for us again. If Tolibo is injured we must play an academy player. They will definitely be better than the inept Kilman who has no Premiership qualities . Probably he is the worst of the panic buys when we wasted the Rice money and the platform of success that would have attracted better players to boost the threadbare ageing squad left by Moyes.

    Igor?

Westham are on thin ice with calamity Killman . They need at least two new decent CB’s now .

  • Kenny Irons says:

Apart from up front, Centre Back was one of the main areas they need to strengthen this window, so the club had better pull their fingers out !
Get Charlie Cresswell in quickly, or someone else will pick him up – and I don’t mean three weeks time, Sullivan !

Why are we behaving stupidly … we have IGOR and go and get cresswell who expressed interest in joining for £3 million
