Jenks tug of war: “It’s 50/50”

JenkdownWest Ham are still negotiating hard to bring Carl Jenkinson to West Ham for a second loan season.

A report on www.kumb.com that the player had snubbed the chance of a move to Sunderland in favour of an Upton Park return.

As we reported yesterday (Tues) the Black Cats management have offered £500,000 above the £2 million loan fee asking price for the England under-21.

But the Hammers believe they are still in with a shout and a re still talking to Jenks’ advisers although it is well known the player would prefer to stay in London.

We were told: “These are difficult talks and only time will tell, as far as we can see it remains a 50/50 situation. Obviously we like Jenks a lot.”

  1. Much as I like the lad as a player, Wenger is on record as saying at end of season he sat down with Jenks and they agreed that he will stay at Arsenal (he is also a Arsenal fan), so apart from fact he will probably want to stay in London if possible the money will be the deciding factor.

  2. I think for once we should gazump the spuds and nick Trippier off them we’ve got more to offer more 1st team chances as we’re not the spuds lol

  3. Quite agree QuickD we should offer £2 million more or the same plus a player,
Then explain to the player he will be first choice with us not back up at Spuds,
Jenkinson will stay at Arsenal before he will move north which means he will come to us
    Or Southampton
