Jhon Duran I Villa ‘Open to Cashing In’

Reports suggest that Unai Emery’s Aston Villa are still open minded and could ‘cash in’ on Jhon Duran in the next transfer window. This after West Ham came close – if £5 million short is considered ‘close’ to buying the 20 year old from Villa in the summer.

It will probably cost millions more each time Duran nets between now and January – and it begs the question will the Hammers be prepared to break the bank to secure the striker they should have bought in 2024.

Reported as an exclusive in Givemesport.com, it is considered likely that Aston Villa’s strategy will be to cash in on the Colombian’s ‘possible’ value in the winter window: ” Sources have been informed that Emery is open to cashing in on Duran, despite highlighting that he can make an impact off the bench, as he is likely to struggle to displace Ollie Watkins from his current employers’ starting line-up and there have been no suggestions that he is in line to be rewarded with fresh terms at this stage.”

With other clubs reported as interested – apart from West Ham – being Chelsea, Newcastle and Inter Milan, any expectations which Tim Steidten might have had for acquiring Duran for £40 million are long gone.

If one of those top tier clubs decides to get their cheque books out, West Ham will be left trailing in their wake financially and rue the day they let Duran slip through their fingers.

If Fullkrug hasn’t started firing by January, Steidten will have to do what he specialised in at his previous clubs and unearth a new ‘pearl’ for half that amount. I suspect the ‘targets’ are already being monitored.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970.. 'Football is Life' oh yes. Let it raise your spirit but never darken your mood. Life's too short not to enjoy the journey with our Claret and Blue heroes n' villains.

Listening to other pod casts regarding Villa and Duran it was stated that Villa were never wanting to sell him and would have increased the price when terms were met. In reality the clubs never agreed a price and 40mil was suggested but never agreed so all of this about 5mil here and there is not what actually transpired.
In regards to the football (I think that’s what I watched) we were beaten by a much better (pains me to say classy but established team) second best to everything poor defending poor finishing (they actually scored all 6 goals) we can blame the officials (when is a blatant handball not a penalty……when it’s at Anfield apparently) but to capitulate as badly as we did is poor form. Maybe changing 9 players in one go was too much of a hill to climb but I would expect them to be better organised than they are at the moment. Klopp and that tool at ARSEnal had half a season to sort things out, that should be at least what the new guy here should get, but on that performance I can see a January sale in the horizon! Poor performance tonight so when they realise that and try harder next time there’s some room for improvement!!

Why would villa cash in on a guy who scores all there goals. Don’t make any football sense at all. Get rid of others that don’t deserve to be there and keep this goal machine at the villa.

  • Taffyhammer says:

We would still need to get the ball to him even if he was in our team. Danny Ings would look great if he was Villa’s sub this season. We need to get real. Hope he comes and we manage to allow him chances to score like Harland!

That ship has sailed,we had our chance and we blew it,he will move on to bigger and better things now….good luck to him.
    I’ve got a lovely home-made shepherd’s pie tonight

They always were prepared to sell but were not prepared to negotiate is the not normal thing. With an undisputedly top player not negotiating might be par for the course, but for a player of Durans standing some degree of negotiation is expectable.
