“I need to go and play games,” Joey O’Brien has told London24 Sport. “The Euros are in the summer. I need to be playing games to try and get into the next squad for the friendlies. Then we can see what happens from there but I need to be playing.
“Ireland hasn’t been to many major championships, so this is a big deal. I will have to see what the manager thinks. If he sits me down and says he wants me to go out on loan then I will look at that. It is down to the manager, if he wants me to hang around here then that’s what I will do. But if he wants me to go out on loan, then I will look at that.”
At least he will get an honest appraisal from S.B.Good luck to Joey wherever he goes.As 247 said he did his job during the tenure of the previous manager.
I thought he did a good job in the Big Sam era (even if ye olde Chav Corner – as usual – didn’t), but struggled this season before his injury. Always been a good, honest squad member, but I don’t think he is up to 1st team now, so I really hope he gets a loan or transfer that works for him.
We should offer him out to a smaller club like Everton. They were looking for a right back recently weren’t they???
Glad to hear your feelings reflect mine about Everton. ****ing ***ts can go **** themselves! Delighted they lost to City this eve.
They were beaten but still managed to seriously injure DeBruyne. They just can’t get over some players being better footballers than them, can they ?
After what they did to Payet, I’m beginning to agree with you. It’s almost like they have an instruction that if an opposition player is playing you off the park just cripple him and get him out the game.
