Johnson call made

David Moyes has made his decision over Ben Johnson’s fitness: He hasn’t made it.

The right-back missed out on the weekend’s game against Everton but there were hopes that he would be fit to play against Lyon in tonight’s quarter-final first leg.

Instead, Ryan Fredericks will again deputise for Johnson in his absence, after his excellent performance against the Toffees at the weekend.

Alphonse Areola is also back in goal after missing the Premier League game at the weekend, as he continues to be the cup goalkeeper.

Elsewhere, Fredericks is joined in defence by Kurt Zouma, Craig Dawson, and Aaron Cresswell in a back four.

In midfield, Declan Rice partners Tomas Soucek, while Jarrod Bowen, Said Benrahma, and Pablo Fornals provide support for Mikey Antonio.

Full West Ham XI: Areola; Fredericks, Zouma, Dawson, Cresswell; Rice, Soucek; Bowen, Fornals, Benrahma; Antonio. Subs: Fabianski, Randolph, Alese, Diop, Coufal, Masuaku, Johnson, Kral, Noble, Vlasic, Yarmolenko, Perkins.

Full Lyon XI: Lopes; Gusto, Boateng, Lukeba, Emerson; Mendes, Ndombele; Faivre, Paqueta, Aouar; Dembele. Subs: Pollersbeck, Bonnevie, Da Silva, Denayer, Henrique, Dubois, Reine-Adelaide, Barcola, Kadewere, Tete, Toko-Ekambi.
