New Sunderland boss Dick Advocaat has confirmed Adam Johnson is available to play against the Irons less than three weeks after he was arrested on suspicion of sexual activity with a 15-year-old schoolgirl.
The Black Cats have lifted Johnson’s suspension this week as the police continue their investigation into the allegation made against him. Johnson has been bailed until April 28th and Sunderland’s new manager Advocaat intends to take him to Upton Park this week.
The 67 year old caretaker boss refused to confirm whether the player was a starter or on the bench but the winger looks set to be involved.
The manager said: “Everyone who is training is available for selection.”
