Johnson signs for the Addicks

johnsonCharlton Athletic have completed the move for former Hammers defender Roger Johnson on a permanent deal until the end of the season. The 31-year-old arrives at The Valley as a free agent, after his contract at Wolves was mutually cancelled yesterday.

On 6th January 2014 he joined  West Ham on loan for the remainder of the 2013–14 season. Johnson played six games in all competitions for West Ham, his first coming on 8 January 2014 in a 6–0 away defeat to Manchester City in a semi-final of the League cup. Johnson took a wage cut to £12,500 per week plus a £5,000 per match appearance fee to join West Ham.  At one point during yesterday’s transfer deadline day the Daily Mail even suggested he may rejoin West Ham if no other deals panned out.
