Gold and Sullivan received welcome Moyes news

Joint-Chairmen David Sullivan and David Gold have welcomed that David Moyes has signed a new three-year contract on Saturday.

Speaking to the official website, the joint West Ham owners said  “This is fantastic news and we are delighted that David has committed his long-term future to the Club, ensuring great stability going forward. His strong work ethic and determination to build success in the right way have proved a perfect fit for West Ham United, and we are all aligned with what needs to be done to keep progressing and improving. The experience of the past 12 months has created a fantastic unity throughout the Club and we are very excited about what the future holds for our supporters.”

As Claret and Hugh revealed over a week ago, David Sullivan personally led the negotiations with David Moyes agent and brother Kenny with lawyers putting the final touches to the three-year deal over the past week.

Moyes will now concentrate on his technical observer role for UEFA during the European Championships based out of Wembley, he will combine his observer role with some scouting and transfer work with Jesse Lingard now one of his main targets.

Coaches Paul Nevin, Stuart Pearce and Kevin Nolan, as well as goalkeeping coach Xavi Valero have renewed their contracts to stay with David Moyes’s backroom team with Alan Irvine taking a new technical advisor role.

  1. Really great news that not only David but his entire coaching staff have signed up.

  2. Really good news this. Long have we craved stability.

Can you shed some more light on Alan Irvines new remit Hugh/ Sean?

I’m guessing whatever it entails it’ll be carried out remotely, no matter as he’s integral to the Moyes game plan.

  3. Best news all day after soooo much speculation built up in the nonsense press .
    COYHAMMERS

  4. Fantastic , in buzzing ⚒

  5. Great news. I slated the owners for getting rid of Moyes after his first stint because I could see how he was improving things for the better. So credit where credits due, they saw their mistake and rectified it. I never listened to the boo boys or the dummy throwers, the so called fans who seemed to think we could buy instant success by getting a big name manager like pellegrini and throwing money at him. I didn’t think that was the recipe for success and I was right. There were fans that said Moyes wasn’t their type of manager, that he was too defensive. I never agreed with that because I remember how attacking his Everton teams were and I remember how i used to dread playing against them. It’s when Everton got their West Ham bogey team label. What Moyes has is a fantastic back room team, all of them capable of being good managers in their own right. What Moyes has in his hard work, determination, the will to win etc has rubs off on his players and if they don’t share those values then they don’t get to play for him. I’m really looking forward to the future under Moyes. I look forward to seeing what he can build over a few years. After a successful first full season as our manager I think he’s done enough to prove himself to his detractors. Hopefully they will leave him alone now and allow him to continue to build something special. He will need the backing of the owners though. Let’s hope they continue to support him with whatever he wants.
