Fonte: ‘It’s not only the manager, it’s the players as well!’

Jose-Fonte-762210Jose Fonte told Sky Sports cameras “Obviously very disappointing, not the performance we wanted to produce, not the performance the fans deserve, we need to look at ourselves in the mirror because this cannot happen, this happened a few times last season. We have to put this right. We are West Ham and it’s just not possible.”

“It’s disappointing. It’s a night to look at and learn from. I won’t say it’s unacceptable. The players tried hard. We tried the best we could, but sometimes it doesn’t go your way. How can we not understand (fans booing)? They don’t like to lose 3-0 at home. We don’t either. We’re all frustrated, we apologise and we work hard on the training pitch.”

“It’s not only the manager, it’s the players as well. We have an unbelievable squad and should not be in this position.”

  1. All just words heard it all before.

  2. The whole system needs a huge shake up.Players not fit, players out of position, players unhappy the list is endless. When you compare some of the players we have here to some in the prem its scandalous that we are in this position.Yes the players need to look at themselves.Arnoutovic and Ayew have been awful,Kouyate looks lost and a shadow of the player we know,Masuaku is a disaster at L.B,.Zabaleta and Henandez(poor sod living off scraps) are the only ones who can hold their heads high and must be wondering what they have walked into. Its a complete shambles and the toxic atmosphere will only continue till changes are made at the top.Imagine we fall behind at Spurs and then Palace the fragile morale of the team will once again cave in and another hiding will be on the cards. It needs to stop NOW.

  3. Clearly the squad is lifeless. No grinta, no spirit. Extremely passive in play and on set pieces. You could tell several times Chariot asking for movement, asking for support from behind, so much that he ended moving down to midfield to get some touches of ball. You could also tell Reid shouting at Masuaku several times for not moving, same at Obiang on the first goal.
Kouyate seems to be lost in the abyss, Arnautovic is crap, Antonio is preaching in the desert…

Change manager and you will see how things improve. Suddenly Sakho won’t be injured, suddenly his buddy Kouyate will recover his game, suddenly Masuaku will show what he has, Suddenly we will have a game plan, a system, and the required energy txt goes with it. See how Brighton, Huddersfield, Bournemouth, Watford fight and hang on ? What is it that they have and we don’t ? A good orchestra director.

  4. Of those mentioned as a caretaker Hiddink or Westley or Trevor Brooking .hen do the research and get us a great coach for next season.
