West Ham could be poised to make a new Transfer move in the upcoming day for Jota Silva following Vitoria de Guimaraes’s decision to reduce their transfer demands.
The Hammers have been heavily linked with the player nicknamed ‘The Portuguese Jack Grealish’ numerous times during theĀ summer. However, speculation had dies down as the deal began to get a little too rich to West Ham’s wallet.
Portuguese media have now reported that Silva, despite being a key player at Vitoria, could be available for a transfer fee ranging from Ā£8.5 million to Ā£10 million. Quite why we’re going to wait a few more days rather than make a bid now is anyone’s guess but that’s what is being reported in Portugal.
Originally, Silva’s contract had a Ā£16.8 million release clause. However, due to the need to balance the books and current market conditions this summer, Vitoria has lowered the price.
Silva showcased outstanding form during the 2023/24 season, scoring 15 goals and providing seven assists in all competitions, which has drawn interest from several Premier League and Serie A clubs.
Crysencio Summerville and Matias Soule were both heavily linked to West Ham yesterday as winger transfer speculation seemed to kick off again following a week of inactivity.
There must be more at play if we aren’t going in for this guy, he is clearly better than what we have one the left wing and could probably play right across the front line, Guillherme will take a while to settle, this guy looks from youtube anyway like he would walk straight into many a first team, has pace, trickery, physicality and scores goals. Unless he is like Ravel Morrison and a complete waste of time when he isn’t on the ball we should be buying him.
Sick to f….ING death of all these xxxx stories. So far we have only signed 2 players. 1 is good 1 is not proven. All this Steitden utter crap. Nothing has changed, Chelsea, Villa, spurs, Man u, have all bought top players and we are left dragging our feet. Plus please stop this utter bully at the start of every article about the history of the 3 players we have purchased.
This is one never ending rumour that I’d like to happen
could, should would, if me auntie had bollocks she would be me uncle, keep em coming boys!!
Seems like nothing has changed in our transfer strategy. Having said that we can discount 99% of the āstoriesā here.
Summerville and Soule are unlikely candidates due to transfer cost
Why keep looking at players that are out of range?
Jota has been linked since start of transfer season with a cost that is doable.
He has versatility which whu have always considered a bonus
Never is there an easy transfer has to be no end of back and forth.
Need to go and get him
I can’t understand why they haven’t snapped up Jota yet ,take to long to decide by then someone else has snapped them up.
We’re into a different reality with PSR and FFP rules.
Books need to be balanced now, if not immediately at some future point. Clubs get into positions where they don’t just want to sell they need to sell. As windows progress any optimistic prices need to reduce.
There’s also a pressure coming from short contract players who are worth a lot less or even nothing in the next window.
The pressure is also two way in that buying clubs are under pressure not to overpay, they also have books to balance somewhere along the line.
First time Iāve heard it put like that and an interesting take on it. Could explain why we havenāt yet done deals for ideal players at seemingly cheap prices, as weāre possibly waiting for prices to drop nearer the end of the window. I hope we get Jota and Wan-Bissaka, not sure about Dhuran!
