Journalist: Hammers in for Ligue 1 midfielder

West Ham are interested in a deal to sign Nantes midfielder Ludovic Blas, according to French journalist Rudy Galetti.

Galetti works for Calciomercato, an Italian outlet, and has claimed that the Hammers are eyeing a potential move to sign the 24-year-old, along with Newcastle.

Blas is a former France U20 international and he has impressed in Ligue 1 this term, making 27 appearances and scoring eight goals, while also registering four assists.

He plays primarily as an attacking midfielder, but can also drop into central midfield, and is also capable of playing on the right wing.

Such versatility is likely to appeal to David Moyes as he looks to reshape his squad in the summer transfer window.

Blas is said to be valued at €20m, which equates to £16.6m, a figure that could be well within reach of the Hammers.

He has a contract with the French club until 2024, so Nantes hold the power when it comes to the negotiating table.
