Journalist makes Rice claim

Journalist Ian McGarry claims that both Liverpool and Manchester United have asked to be kept informed about Declan Rice’s situation at West Ham.

The Hammers midfielder has repeatedly been linked away, with Chelsea often touted as the likeliest of suitors.

That has died down since Frank Lampard’s exit bu t that hasn’t stopped McGarry from throwing some more names into the ring!

He claims that both Liverpool and United are interested in doing a deal for the England international.

They have apparently been in contact with Rice’s agent and have asked to be kept informed of any offers!

He said, on the Transfer Window Podcast: “He is no longer on the transfer list of recruitment possibilities for the Stamford Bridge club, but he has certainly roused the interest of Liverpool and Manchester United.

“Both of whom have expressed interest to Rice’s agent as we understand and they have asked to be kept informed of any offers made for the England international.”

Now, we should say here that this is pretty obvious and of course we have heard the same stories so many times before.

Move on!

The big clubs are interested in Rice because, naturally, he’s brilliant.

But this is the vaguest type of update from a journalist who is clearly trying to generate a story when there really isn’t one.

We maintain our stance that we’ve taken various times – it would take MASSIVE money for Rice to move on and his exit simply isn’t on our agenda!

  1. The problem is i am beginning to doubt whether the football media in general has the wit to move on. To me its lazy predictable and repetitive.,And now completely boring. And i think laughable.

  2. I imagine this is all agents do all day long, that’s their job.
No doubt these clubs , us included would be negligent if these conversations weren’t had.
As they say, let us know if something is cooking?
    Just covering their backs….

  3. Slow news day topic?… Now they’re all aware that we have been doing well in a sustained manner, they are mischief-making, encouraging us to implode and trying to introduce fear!
Some of the poorer news article links, I avoid simply by reading the headlines… some are a little more difficult to predict until you open them.

  4. Firstly he wouldn’t leave London especially to go up north secondly Liverpool in decline isn’t exactly a move upwards and manure are way behind city so that wouldn’t suit him either. Now abroad yep a possibility in time but I think his happy at a big top club in the best city in UK and one of the best in the world so these greedy agents had better take note . Future captain of hammers isn’t a bad thing eh !

  5. Dec’s doing well for the team and enjoying it , why move anyway , might get Europe with us 🙏. COYI

  6. Yeah fine. Tell Marcus Rashford’s agent to keep WHU informed about his situation while you are at it – I mean, surely they will sell their top home grown talent now they are doing well? Another slow news day.
