Julian Dicks: “Fans must be heard”

|

Julian Dicks has defended the fans right to protest as new demonstrations are planned for Saturday!

The Terminator  – choosing to give an interview to The Sun – declared: “I don’t agree with the fighting, the coin throwing and the violence — but fans must be heard

“They are deeply frustrated with the way things are going and want to get their point across.

“The Burnley incidents have been dismissed as mindless hooliganism. Yes, some of it overstepped the mark but some of it was more out of frustration than anything else.

“The guy who ran on the pitch with the corner flag was no yob.”

Dicks was opposed to West Ham’s relocation from Upton Park to the London Stadium and added: “I didn’t want to move to the London Stadium all along. Even two years before the move I was having reservations about it.”

He added: “The board has to back managers in the transfer market. That was the whole point of the move.

“It was said it would lead to the signings to challenge for the top six and European football. But talk is cheap.”

    Absolutely bang-on Dicksie!
Interseting that there’s been no CCTV footage showing the coin throwers?!?
Also the only violence I witnessed (albeit on a stream, and word of mouth from mates that were present) was the fans ‘welcome’ to the pitch invaders upon their return, and from Noble.

certainly right about the signings, we were all optimistic after the last season at the Boleyn and the chairmen didn’t make a single high quality signing, although I am fairly certain some of those players could have done better with better coaching and for that Dick’s, Bilic and co were responsible, the team got progressively worse under them, the stats don’t lie.

    God I miss that crest.

Yep mate better than the toysrus version we have at the minute. Like the people choosing it, it lacks any sophistication or class.

      Agree with that Bill👍
Although I would say I quite like the 3rd kit crest (puts tin hat on)
