West Ham’s game against Leeds will be shown at the same time as Tottenham take on Everton this afternoon in what is becoming known as ‘survival Sunday’.
The head says the Hammers will exit the premier league by six tonight whilst the heart suggests a romantic, against the odds ending which will send Tottenham down and keep Nuno’s Irons in the Premier League- in what would surely be the greatest escape ever.
Unlike most pundits who have their own flag to fly or an axe to grind, Skysports.com have produced their own forecasts today with the cold hard application of data and statistics – and it makes for interesting reading if you are a West Ham – or indeed a Tottenham fan:

West Ham v Leeds Utd:

SCORE PREDICTION: 3-1″
Anyone fond of a flutter would probably feel that combination is worth a tenner: For me there’s enough jeopardy in any case although I’d stick my neck out and suggest both games will likely have two very nervy periods of ‘added time’ with about +10 added to each game if the Spuds are looking to be heading down. Just call me cynical.

Both teams did what they needed too, our season was defined by a series of bad decisions over many years by David Sullivan.
Well done to the players since January you couldn’t have given more in that time and this isn’t on you.

The days of waiting until the other match is over before trying in the last two minutes are long gone.
I seem to remember Coventry in particular and Bristol City having to kick off late for their final consequential match of the season. Usually 15 – 20 minutes delay due to fans arriving late or being delayed on the road. “Safety concerns” repeatedly reported as the reason for the late kick off.
The games then turned into a kick around with neither side showing any ambition to threaten the goals. When the rest of the crucial games had finished, Coventry or whoever would know which result was required from their games. They either somehow managed to find a winner or played out a fun possession draw.
The alternative for Tottenham fans will be to cause a stoppage in their Everton game should West Ham be winning 1:0 with 15 minutes left. Then they will know what result they need and with over 10 minutes to achieve that result.
It used to be that fans were only aware of scores from other matches by listening to their transistor radios. Now of course more than half of the watching fans are actually looking at their phones.
Let’s just hope that there are no shenanigans in the games today. West Ham win by three and same for Everton.
