West Ham this evening received a massive piece of good news, with multiple outlets reporting that winger Crysencio Summerville could be missing in action for a far shorter period than expected. The Dutch winger injured his calf during the Hammers’ epic FA Cup victory against Brentford, and following a scan on Monday, it had been assumed that he would miss a number of weeks. Quite possibly the Premier League fixture against Wolverhampton Wanderers was suggested as a likely return.
However, it now seems he could be available for the Aston Villa clash next week. That would mean that Summerville would, in effect, only miss Saturday’s fixture against Manchester City.
International dream could still be alive
The added bonus for the player would also mean that should he feature against Villa, he would be free for a call-up to the Dutch national team, where he was hopeful of making his senior international debut.
Claret & Hugh were told by a West Ham insider that the layoff would be “weeks rather than months”. But even that seems conservative judging by the latest reports.
Should have been taken off as soon as he got injured.
We know how Nuno likes to keep the opposition guessing, I wouldn’t be surprised if he were named in the eleven against City 😊⚒️⚒️
I wondered the same thing mate
