West Ham have yet another 3 pm kickoff tomorrow as Julen Lopetegui takes his Hammers team to face high-flying Nottingham Forest. It’s our first Premier League trip outside of London, though there was a Carabao Cup game away to Liverpool that’s best forgotten.
Lopetegui has some big calls to make and surely won’t consider leaving Crysencio Summerville on the bench again in favour of Carlos Soler. However, his pre-match comments—”there is a big focus on who is going to be in the starting line-up, but one important thing is that you can change things to suit each match”—leave me wondering if the former Leeds winger will find himself back on the bench.
All of the above and more is discussed in the Nottingham Forest v West Ham United preview, which I sat down and recorded with Geo, my partner in crime over at Hammers Chat.
In the video, we chew over Forest’s form, Nuno Espírito Santo’s influence, and the partnership of Nikola Milenković and Murillo, as well as West Ham team news, our ideal starting XI, and whether we’re confident of a result at The City Ground.
It won’t matter if we lose mr Sullivan will still say he’s backing JL he really needs to wake up and smell the coffee we won against Man Utd last weekend but it’s was a game that any other top team would have torn us apart in the first half but we ended up winning with a penalty that was never a penalty had it not been for the referee the best would have been a draw as a result I don’t think we are capable of beating forest tomorrow I just can’t see that happening I hope I’m wrong but the writing is on the wall
You’re right, most teams would have been out of sight at half time given our woeful first half performance last week. I have no idea how we won that game. The second half was far better and we need to start against Forest with that line up.
