Kidderminster Harriers means it’s time for Irons youngsters

|

Ashby

David Moyes’ reluctance to use his under 23s will be tested to the limits for the match against Kidderminster Harriers in the FA Cup.

Thus far we have seen very very little of such as Ashby, Longelo, Alese, Baptiste, Perkins, Okoflex, Chesters and Neivers for example.

I’m not suggesting he should use all of them but the under 23s are having a great season at the top of Premier League Two and have moved into the last 16 of the Premier League cup by beating Exeter City on their own ground last week.

Now we will discover whether or not he trusts them against a team that currently sits fourth in the National League north at the weekend on a weekend when some first teams can take a deserved rest.

There seems little reason why he wouldn’t give one or two at least a chance in a game which sees them playing a non league club.

Alese

Several of them did really well when coming on in the Europa league match against Dinamo Zagreb but haven’t been seen since.

One CandH follower Boleyn Irons writes: “He doesn’t give himself the choice of a youngster as he doesn’t trust them but ends up getting a worse result. Virtually every poor result is down to this (using such as Yarmolenko and Masuaku instead).

Not trusting a U23’s even in their best season ever is crazy . If any other Pl team had that team they would have utilized them by now integrating throughout the campaign.

It’s hard to disagree and this weekend will tell us much with the possibility of us finding out what’s in his mind a little before that.
