Kids make Burnley match interesting

West Ham boss David Moyes will stick as closely as possible to the team that beat Chelsea as he heads north for Burnley tomorrow.

But the make up of his bench could be fascinating following a crop of good performances by  our youngsters against Dinamo Zagreb.

With a doubt still hanging over Aaron Cresswell young Emmanuel Longelo has a chance although given that both Issa Diop and Craig Dawson are available it was interesting to hear David Moyes talking about the possibility of dropping Declan Rice into the back four.

Beyond that Said Benrahma can expect to sit this game out as Manu Lanziniu’s form improves whilst Vladi Coufal is clearly booked for the right back role with Ben Johnson out for up to three weeks with a hammie.

So with the exception of Cresswell – on whom we will have to wait and see – the team appears to all but pick itself.

Fabianski, Coufal, Diop, Dawson, Cresswell or Longelo; Rice, Soucek Lanzin, Bowen, Fornals, Antonio.

Possible bench: Areola, Baptiste, Masuaku, Alese, Longleo (should Creswell be ok), Noble, Vlasic,

  1. I really hope he does not put Rice in the back four – not a satisfactory short or long term measure. Play Dec where he is England first choice! Trust your squad, Diop, Dawson, Alesi, Baptiste. Burnley play a strong centre forward, Dawson/Diop should love that.

  2. Well will we be so lucky tomorrow? Liverpol-chelsea-man city -man utd all won on penalties Makes one think,
