Kids not allowed to leave – report

West Ham kids were not allowed to go out on loan because they might be needed in the squad, according to a report from The Athletic.

The outlet claims that there was interest in a number of up-and-coming Hammers stars but that overtures for them were rejected by the club because they need them to stick around.

The report claims that Plymouth Argyle had an interest in signing Aji Alese on loan, but he was told he had to stay, while right-back Harrison Ashby was wanted by Hull City. He was not allowed to move, either.

Emmanuel Longelo was also said to have interest from Wycombe, Ipswich, Peterborough and Nottingham Forest although his failure to make a move may also be explained by the fact that he has been battling a back injury.

Elsewhere, Darren Randolph, the goalkeeper, was also not allowed to leave, despite there being interest in him from both Aston Villa and Leeds; both clubs wanted to take him on loan.
