KIlman Pursuit Turning into a Transfer Saga

West Ham United face a pivotal decision regarding their pursuit of defender Max Kilman with the pusrsuit of the defender becoming far too protracted. Talks with Wolverhampton Wanderers are ongoing, with Wolves reportedly expecting for a renewed offer from the Hammers this week.

This development comes after West Ham’s unsuccessful £29 million bid for Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo.

Manager Julen Lopetegui, who previously coached Kilman, is a known admirer and is eager to reunite with the 27-year-old defender. However, West Ham must determine how much their willing to push on a transfer which is becoming increasingly difficult.

Kilman could be a valuable addition to West Ham’s backline, especially considering Angelo Ogbonna’s departure and the uncertain future of Nayef Aguerd. We are also in need of a captain with Kurt Zouma both unfit for the role and available for transfer.  Strengthening the central defence is a priority for the Hammers after a disappointing defensive showing last season, so it’s clear that something has to give.

West Ham fans are anxiously awaiting news as the transfer window progresses. The club’s decision on Kilman will likely come soon, influenced by the pressure from Wolves and their own financial limitations. Will they meet Wolves’ demands, or will we explore other defensive options?

It’s not protracted it is called negotiation. These are big sums and deals take time. There is no rush just because some fans are obsessed with transfers.

As a Wolves fan I would like to comment. Your recruitment team are making your club look like idiots. Sure, in a negotiation if you have the upper hand you can play hardball but you need to work out the balance of power before you start otherwise other clubs will not want to deal with you. I don’t know any of the Wolves team personally but I sense Gary O’Neill is honest. So why can’t Tim Steidten manage to see that rather than read gutter press nonsense and understand that Wolves will not sell unless their value is met. Equally funny (in a sad way) is your approach for Todibo who is worth way more than you offered. And then I just read that you now think you could buy Calafiori, what for £2.50? Why don’t you just pay what the club wants or stop wasting everyone’s time. Pay the price for Kilman if you want him, increase his salary but not ridiculously and get rid of cat kicker Zouma which would save you a fortune.

There are better centre backs for the price being talked about, if we’re paying that much I’d be happier with one of them.

Are we all anxious then? 🤣

They wanted a figure – even if it’s a tad optimistic- but don’t appear to have to sell their captain. If we meet it – end of your saga – if we don’t then FairPlay to Wolves for pricing out their captain. Especially as they lose 15-2% of any fee to Maidenhead as a clause

    YAWNNN!!
