KIwi coach gives Reid injury report

reidWinston Reid looks to be out for some time if early reports of the injury he suffered against Leicester  City prove accurate.

The defender went off early in the first half aided by two of the backroom staff and the signs immediately looked awful and ensured he would be absent from the upcoming international against Fiji.

There was no immediate word from the club but the Kiwi will head for a scan tomorrow and it is understood that he is already on crutches.

The first report came from New Zealand coach Anthony Hudson who spoke with Reid briefly following the game and that confirmed the news wasn’t good.

Hudson revealed: “It looks like he has injured his groin. He will have a scan [Monday NZ time] but it looked bad.”

Pedro Obiang could also be facing an extended period on the sidelines after turning his ankle and leaving the action. He too faces a scan although Slaven Bilic remains cautiously optimistic he will be available after the international break.
