Klopp may know about Jarrod Bowen release clause

Jarrod Bowen release clause

Speculation that Jarrod Bowen had a release clause in his contract had rescinded following him signing a new deal. It had been suggested the previous hold-up in negotiations had been due to Bowen’s agents stipulation that there must be a £40m release clause.

This set tongues wagging, so when the attacker did sign a new deal, the club were keen to leak that no exit clause had been inserted into the deal. As a result, talk of an early exit for Bowen died down and many of us West Ham fans had put it to the back of our minds.

It wasn’t until Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp began fluttering his eyelashes at Bowen following Wednesdays game that many of us had given it any thought at all.

Mark Noble-West Ham-tough task-sporting director-academy of football-Noble hinted Jarrod Bowen may have a release clause in his contract

Mark Noble hinted at Jarrod Bowen release clause

During TNT Sports’ coverage of West Ham vs Man Utd, Mark Noble was asked about Liverpool’s apparent interest in Jarrod Bowen, and he insisted that it does “not worry” him.

Unfortunately, Mark Noble’s subsequent comments have cast some doubt on the situation.

“To be honest, it didn’t worry me because he’s just signed a new long-term deal with us a month ago,” Noble said on TNT Sports.

“I think Liverpool and Jurgen (Klopp) have always been big fans of Jarrod, with the way that Jurgen sets his teams up and the way he plays.”

When asked by Paul Scholes if there is a release clause in Bowen’s new contract, Noble added, “I am not telling you!”

Perhaps it was a joke but I’d have preferred an unequivocal no  . . . anything else was bound to create doubt.
