Former Hammer Paul Konchesky has told Jim White on Talk Sport that West Ham should back everyone including the owners if they want to survive.
Konchesky is thought to be employed for the West Ham Academy and helps out with scouting
Koch told Talk Sport listeners:“They (West Ham) are not doing too well in the league at the moment, the owners are always going to get it because West Ham fans are West Ham fans and they don’t want to see the football club near the bottom of the Premier League”.
“We know when they left Upton park it weren’t a good thing from the owners they say, now they are struggling in the new stadium. The West Ham fans are going to go for the owners and we need to get behind them because they put their money in and we need to back everyone”
Asked by White about the protests and comments made towards to owners
“When you see things like that and you read it it affects you, at the moment I think it is affecting the players, especially the new players which really don’t know what West Ham is about, it’s affecting them from day one”
On the London Stadium Konch added: “I go and visit the London Stadium and think I wish I was playing, these stadiums today, I love to be involved in them. You really see the athletics stadium anymore, the owners have covered it up as much as they can and the boys are there to play football, lets not make excuses, there is a football pitch there. So that’s the main thing and the fans need to get behind all the players”
“The fans need to get behind all the players.”
“When you see things like that [the protests], it affects you.”

Why does everyone with a different opinion have to have an ulterior motive?
Konchesky is an ex pro. He says it affects players and fans say it doesn’t. I know who I believe.
I also for what it’s worth think Konchesky is wrong. He’s employed by the club so won’t say anything different. The fans are for the players it’s the board we don’t support. He knows that as well!!!
Well I’m not employed by West Ham and I think he’s spot on.
You mean the board aren’t paying you anything given how generous they are 😉
He hasn’t got much choice in what he says if he wants to keep his job!
Let’s hope end of season sees Ms Brady gone, a decent football CEO in place to put the right structure in place (DoF and scouting network), further investment into the youth system. Better chance of a sale for S&G and if this leads to seriously wealthy owners perhaps a chance to buy the stadium and rebuild the internal part – that way we keep the iconic OS on the outside and have a football stadium on the inside.
Well done Konch. I think the vast majority of West Ham fans will agree with you. The disruptive protesting ones who hate the owners or hate the new stadium won’t but let’s hope they stay away or keep quiet until the end of the season so the rest of us have got a fighting chance of survival.
Konchesky is wrong.
