Kostic deal close

Filip Kostic is set to join Juventus.

The Eintracht Frankfurt wing-back was a target for the Hammers earlier in the transfer window and a bid was launched to secure his signature.

However, he is now set to move to the Serie A giants after they reached an agreement with the German club.

Sky Sport Italia, via the Daily Mail, reports that the Irons actually tabled a higher bid than Juve, but the Serbia international has chosen to make the move to Italy instead.

Kostic has reached an agreement with Juve over personal terms and it looks as though the deal is now on the verge of completion.

The Irons had hoped to bring him in to bolter the club’s firepower, with Gianluca Scamacca the only attacker that’s been signed this summer.

The Hammers have signed Maxwel Cornet from Burnley instead, paying his £17.5m release clause, and he could make his debut this weekend against Nottingham Forest.

  1. Come on Dave, I can’t think of a single West Ham supporter who is interested in Kostic, most of us knew he was never coming and playing us and others realise the deal was dead ages ago what he does in moving from one foreign league to another is irrelevant to us as a club, if somehow Juventus get relegated to the conference league he might be relevant next year. Spinning these stories out for advertising hits which is my assumption here, is annoying as a reader. More than happy to be shot down by others that think differently and equally to have replies from those that think similarly which could be good feedback to you as a journalist and to make the site stronger.

    • Agree 100%
Clubs get played week in and week out by these irrelevant mercenaries, I have ZERO interest in him or our former transfer interests.

  2. Changing the subject our performances in pre season has looked miles off the pace, fortunate only 2goals conceded against city. Are our better players losing interest?.
