The Hammers have received a massive boost with the news that Cheikhou Kouyate is set to return for the weekend clash against Manchester City. It will be a momentous occasion as the Irons enter into their first Boleyn top four clash for many years and the Kouyate factor could be crucial.
However, Kouyate is now back training and co-owner David Gold has revealed he is hopeful that their summer signing will be fit.
Both Alex Song and Mark Noble now both fully fit too and West Ham have a solid midfield with the likes of Diafra Sakho, Enner Valencia and Stewart Downing impressing going forward, optimism is high.
David Gold tweeted: “I am optimistic that he (Kouyate) will be available for the weekend. Dg,” David Gold tweeted.
“They beat us four times last season, I’m sure we will attack them as we seek revenge.
“I believe we can get something out of the game.”
If he was going to get injured, then it came at a time when we could cope. These games are the ones that you hope you can start your best player’s and he certainly fits into that category. He is a very important player for us already,as i’m sure time will tell. C.O.Y.I.
