Kouyate joins Europa League squad in Malta

KouyateFive days ago first team coach Julian Dicks cited fitness as the reason for Cheik Kouyate being unavailable for the first leg of the Europa league match against Birkirkara at the Boleyn ground.

Kouyate played sixty minutes in a pre-season friendly at Roots Hall last Saturday as West Ham beat Southend United in 3-2.

Just six days later Kouyate must now be deemed fit enough to be included in the squad that flew to Malta at lunchtime as he was pictured in his fetching long flight socks stepping off the chartered jet in the bright sunshine.
