Kouyate urges Sakho to stay

during the Barclays Premier League match between West Ham United and Norwich City at the Boleyn Ground on September 26, 2015 in London, United Kingdom.

Cheikhou Kouyate has told Senegal media he has urged Diafra Sakho to stay at West Ham. The twenty six year Hammer is currently back in Senegal with his parents during the month of Ramadan.

Speaking to www.senenews.com Kouyate said “I think Diafra ran out of luck. Let us not forget that he remained injured for four months. It was difficult to meet his target to score 20 goals in the season. His injury came at the wrong time, this injury has hurt him in the heart and it has stopped him in its tracks.”

Asked whether Kouyate has advised Sakho to leave West Ham Cheik replied:

No, not at all. I tell him all the time to stay at the club. The coach likes him, he is appreciated by the players. Dimitri Payet and myself like him a lot. Diafra Sakho is a great striker and West Ham’s leaders know this.”

  1. Come on daffy , head down and give us 20 .
But sign Jansen as well , asap.

  2. Hope he stays,
The trouble with Sak and many targets we have been linked with is they don’t feel loved or really wanted,
We should have targeted one player at a time and gone after them as if they were the dogs bulicks,
Also we should have took Diafra to one side and told him he would start as number 1 and it was in his hands to keep that place,
Now who ever Slav really wants IE Jensen,Tore or Balaise
Go and get them and don’t talk about any other players until those are felt with,
At the moment we are linked with at least 15 players and are we really interested in any of them,

  3. I really hope he stays and what with the youngsters I don’t think we need to spend big. If we get the Man U youngster and Monterio (badly spelt I’m sure) I think we’re looking good.. Then again wasn’t it the wise words of Alan Hanson, “You’ll never win anything with youngsters..” just before Man U went and scooped up everything that shines..

  4. I think we have been far to quick all round to jump in to the bidding hysteria that’s been a feature of all the main transfer race.
.We should be paying a bit more attention to what we’ve got. Sakho was a goal scoring machine before his injury and there’s no reason to believe he won’t again with a little help. Another thing everyone seems to have forgotten is tha (fingers crossed )Andy is going to start the season fit and ready to play for the first time.
Keep searching for a good striker by all means but stop jumping all over the place, oh and DG. “button your lip for a while”

  5. I hope Sakho stays and Bilic plays him down the middle. I’d use Carroll as a Plan B (sub) option and against Arsenal.

  6. Carroll won’t stay fit long if they let him pis about playing American football,
I agree I think between Sak and AC we don’t need to spend silly money another forward such as Gomez would give us a number 9 that can be played around with our many talented wingers and attacking midfielders,
That’s the future you only have to watch France,Italy,
We have signed one speedster only Tore or Balaise to add and the we can bring in the youngster such as Martinez or Fletcher if he signs in the cups and when games are won
