Kouyate’s future not in doubt

|

West Ham have dismissed speculation that Cheik Kouyate could be on his way to Turkey.

The midfielder suffered a disappointing season (who didn’t?) last term and yesterday (Tues) was been at the centre of reports he could be on his way to either Galatasaray or Besiktas.

Football website Galsenfoot.com reported that the Senegal midfielder’s availability was being monitored by the Turkish giants but the Irons have been quick to make it clear he’s staying where he is.

The claim was that both clubs would be interested were Manuel Pellegrini be ready to replace the midfielder.

However, the Hammers have made it clear to CandH that Kouyate is not one of those the club would be ready to release at this stage.

We were told that the plan is to strengthen rather than replace and that Kouyate remains an important member of the squad .

Kouyate has a contract with the Hammers until 2021.

If he gets a rest this summer and pelle gets him going to his first years with slav then keep him for sure . We need a strong guy in the middle like kante and if he can get back to his best with a top coach that’s a bonus

He was appalling for almost the entire season.Surely with midfield getting strengthened this Summer he will have to fight for his place and not be an automatic choice anymore.

I believe part of the reason why Kouyate was below par this season was because he had to cover more ground and had more responsibility as Noble was not able to cover the ground. I believe with a mobile ball playing midfielder in there with him, we will see him come back to his best. I hope that a mobile playing ball player in midfield to replace Noble is on the list.

Honestly think Snodgrass is the one to get rid of? Perhaps Cardiff with Warnock as there manager might be interested? Only he spoke highly of him when they were together at Leeds on ‘talksport’ the other day
