The mighty Irons cruised to a highly attractive victory courtesy of goals from Mohammad Kudus and former Ajax team mate Edsion Alvarez making it safe.
It means the squad will now avoid the February knockout stage after taking their place in the last sixteen by winning Group A.
This could not have been a more different display to that at Fulham with the likes of Paqueta and Kudus running the show with some highly inventive and creative football.
The importance of Alvarez was clear as he anchored the midfield and ensure the German outfit could never break through to any real effect.
The slick moving Hammers were on top from the start and could have been ahead after five minutes when Paqueta thumped a shot against the bar from a wicked Kudus cross.
Making their first appearance in England the Bundesliga team were pushed onto the back foot and although there was little action in the opening 14 minutes when Kudus made a clever run to beat the offside trap and score from a beautiful ball forward from Alvarez.
Six minutes later the Hammers thought they may have doubled the score line but Bowen’s wry smile demonstrated what we could all see – that he was marginally offside.
The German team’s only response was a low shot which Fabianski collected comfortably before Soucek lifted a ball over the top from a Coufal throw in.
But a second goal was on the cards and this time it was Alvarez receiving a ball from Paqueta who strode forward to find the net for his firs Irons goal, firing easily past the keeper.
The Hammers poured forward at the start of the second half with Emerson, Bowen and Kudus all having chances.
The Bundesliga side had one half chance through Rohl which Fab saved well before the Hammers played out the game in comfortable style.
