Kudus booked again

|

Hammer Mohammed Kudus was booked again as Ghana beat Madagascar 1-0 in the 2026 FIFA World Cup CAF qualifying Group I campaign on Friday but not until the sixth minute of extra time. Former Iron Chris Hughton’s side saw the victory clinched by striker Iñaki Williams headed high into the net. The downside for Kudus was that he had received another booking after picking one up against Forest last weekend.

Dinos Mavropanos was another Hammers winner as Greece beat Zealand 2-0 in a friendly played in Athens. Greece will complete their UEFA Euro 2024 Group B qualifying campaign at home to Alphonse Areola’s France in Athens on Tuesday 21 November. A victory, combined with the Netherlands failing to win at home to Republic of Ireland and away to Gibraltar, will see Greece finish second and secure automatic qualification.

Marshall

Academy prospects Callum Marshall and Michael Forbes were were involved for Northern Ireland appearing as second half subs in in their 4-0 defeat by Finland at the Helsinki Olympic Stadium. Forbes made his senior debut, while Marshall earned his third cap, but Northern Ireland were already three goals down when the young Hammers pair were introduced.

Tomas Soucek scored and Vladimír Coufal also started as Czech Republic earned a 1-1 draw away to Poland. Now they will require a home win or draw on Monday to see themselves guarantee a top-two finish. A home win or draw with Moldova on Monday would see the Czechs , regardless of how Albania fare

Edson Álvarez was involved for 90 minutes as Mexico fell to a 2-0 defeat to Honduras in their CONCACAF Nations League quarter-final first leg.
