Kudus’ January Move | Massive Repercussions

Further stories coming out of media this morning would indicate if true that Mohammed Kudus‘ plans for a winter move away from West Ham – most recently suggested as being the player eyeing up a move to  Arsenal – are likely to stall.

The 24 year old Ghanaian had been reported as telling he agent to get him out of London Stadium in the January window to Liverpool, with Arsenal reportedly interested too.

However the release clause of £85 million in his contract is not ‘live’ until the summer so it’d take a pretty special bid to tempt the West Ham board to sell. Arsenal were rumoured last week to be readying a £90 million bid- news this morning from footballinsider247.com would suggest this is now on the back burner at least until the summer window.

Quoting their ‘transfer correspondent’ Pete O Rourke, the site claim:“A move for Kudus is unlikely to occur in the January transfer window,” but “Arsenal could look to push to try and sign him in the summer transfer window to bolster their options for next season”.

Much depends what happens at London Stadium between now and then, to be frank: Lopetegui’s situation within the club and any decision about his successor is just as likely to either calm or supercharge the Kudus’ camp as far as any ‘wanting out’ agitation in January.

So the repercussions of a West Ham victory – or the consequences of an unthinkable loss- will likely have massive consequences for the Hammers head coach and for others at the club, Kudus included.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970.. Don't take my comments too seriously, imagine we are having a chat at half time over a pint at L S and "let's disagree without falling out".

want someone to make up a happy chappy story for you? Kudus is clearly a mercenary and wants what’s only – what he thinks – is best for himself and himself only. one would think, be an experienced Hammers fan, you’d have a thicker skin.

The reality is if bids like this come in for our players we will sell them, we are not a destination club we are a stepping stone, no different to teams like Villa or Spurs and pretty much every other club.

One way to keep such players is to develop them and play football they enjoy, which is why I would like to see Potter given the role if and when they get rid of Lopetegui and I don’t see how with those players Lopeteguis system will work, they are world class but designed for a different model.

Liverpool makes sense longer term if Salah goes end of the season. But they’re not known for shelling out sums like £85m unless they’ve made a big sale themselves first.

I’m a bit surprised to see Arse are interested in Kudos, who plays a similar position/style to Saka, and with Odegard, Havertz, Sterling, Trossard, Martinelli, also playing the Attacking Midfield roles, where does he fit in?

IF Arse are in the market for a £100mil. player, surely it would be a centre forward?
