Bad news for Hammers as Kudus picks up another injury
West Ham United’s Mohammed Kudus is set to miss Ghana’s upcoming international friendlies against Nigeria and Uganda due to a minor knee injury, according to a report by Daily Mirror journalist Ryan Taylor.
While the injury is a setback for Ghana, it’s a source of relative relief for West Ham. The minor nature of the injury suggests a quicker recovery, preventing a major disruption to the Hammers’ squad.
However, David Moyes‘ squad has already been hit by injuries to key players recently. The manager will be hoping Kudus uses the international break to recover fully and re-join the West Ham first team as soon as possible.
Knee injuries can be unpredictable, and the news inevitably raises some concerns. Fortunately, with a two-week break following West Ham’s last match before the international fixtures, Kudus has a good chance of making a full recovery.
This news adds to West Ham’s injury woes, with Emerson Palmieri and Maxwel Cornet also facing fitness issues. The club will be hoping to avoid further setbacks and keep their list of unavailable players to a minimum.
To put it bluntly, Kudus has become a vital player for West Ham and one we can’t do without. The squad is so thin at present that even the loss of one player could make the difference between success and failure.
The team has really only started to function again which Lucas Paqueta moved infield and Kudus on the left hand side. I fear that without the Ghanaian attacker, Moyes team will revert back to overly defensive and unthreatening football.
