Lady Luck giving Hammers a helping hand

The General available for Tuesday

West Ham have had a helping hand from one area, in particular, this season as things have got better and better during a fine season- Lady Luck.

Beyond Mikey Antonio’s unfortunate – but maybe expected – injury issues along of course with Arthur Masuaku’s we have remained in very good shape since the start of the campaign.

There were those among us at one time who believed there may be a curse on teh Rush Green Training Ground.

We’ve also been fortunate in not suffering unduly from the pandemic with only former player Josh Cullen and Issa Diop testing positive within the UK.

Tomas Soucek and Andriy Yarmolenko have both self-isolated along with Ryan Fredericks and Fabian Balbuena so we have everything crossed that we continue to beat the bug.

The General and Issa Diop are both available for the match against West Brom on Tuesday night but it’s very unlikely the boss will break up the Dawson/Ogbonna partnership.

  1. I think the fitness coaches might disagree with you saying it’s down to luck that we’ve had so few injuries.

  2. We might be reaping the rewards of fitness training and practice that feels right and feels appropriate rather than following what it says in the fitness trainer’s handbook.
