Lanzini boost for Pellegrini

Manuel Lanzini’s season is back on re-start with the Argentine midfielder set to be named in the squad again this weekend.

The midfielder left the action during the second half of the game against Manchester United with the general view being that was it for this campaign

After making an eight game return following the awful cruciate injury he sustained on the World Cup training build up many believed manager Manuel Pellegrini would give him an extended rest into the summer and that we’d see him again in pre-season.

But he is now fit to continue and we understand very likely to be involved in the squad for the match against Southampton at the  weekend and barring any further injury also for the final game at Vicarage Road next weekend.

A senior Hammers source told us via e-mail: “He trained a few days last week, but didn’t think he was ready to play against Spurs However, he should be in the squad this week.”

  1. I’d wrap him up in cotton wool ready for next season.
