Lanzini could be out for ‘a long time’ says Jurcevic

|

Manuel+Lanzini+West+Ham+United+v+SV+Werder+0Pg6_ic94sIlAssistant manager Nikola Jurcevic has hinted Lanzini could be out for a ‘long time’ in his post press match conference after yesterday’s Europa League first leg loss but admits “we don’t have exact information” yet.

Jurcevic stated that West Ham will have to delve into the transfer market to add reinforcements after losing Gokhan Tore, Aaron Cresswell and Manuel Lanzini to injuries in recent days.

“Maybe we will possibly do something in the transfer market because we need some players in some positions, because Aaron Cresswell and Manuel Lanzini are injured and cannot play for a long time” Jurcevic told the  assembled press.

“With Lanzini, we don’t have exact information. He will come back from America, where he wanted to play in the Olympic Games for Argentina. We don’t know, but we think he will not be fit for the next game against Domzale.”

Fingers crossed then that it’s nothing too serious.

Frustrating news for everyone I’m sure. Let’s hope the silver lining will be the players we are now forced to move for will give the squad the strength and depth it needs. If, and it’s a big if, the papers are to be believed about Man U having a clear out, and Mata is on the list, could he be an awesome addition and the marquee signing the club is looking for?

Really hope we get the defence sorted soon, too. Anybody know if Iorfa is still an option?

Also, depending on what city do, is bony (not my first choice but I think we are past first, second, third and fourth choice) available or could a loan deal for iheanacho be sorted?

The last I read about Iorfa was that Wolves said he wasnt for sale. Its all a bit cat & mouse at the moment with selling clubs hanging on for the best offer.Their resolve will he tested more as we head towards the closing of the window IMO.

Maybe a loan for Fosu-Mensah? He looked pretty competent against us in the FA Cup.

The defence problem is not so much the right side with Byram looking the part which is where Iorfa plays,
Novedt looks ok along side him on the right
But Ginter would be good cover Burke is right sided as well
Ogbonna is number 1 on the left so maybe Reid needs to play left back where he played many times before with Ginge covering and Page,
We need a good Left back cover Taylor,Rico Henry,or the lad from Charlton but get it done quick or cancel Hendrie loan now even if we have to pay compo
Lanzini missing is only going to be a problem if Payet gets injured, with Feggolui ,Antonio and Samulsun all fighting for the right hand side position we should be ok,
Plus Callum can play around that area and Quina,
Ayew would be great now as a left side option with the Tore injury,
I would go for bost brothers now and let Sak and Enner leave as they don’t want to be here,
