Lanzini in squad for Newcastle

A Lanzini C&HManu Lanzini will be in the squad which meets Newcastle at St. James’ Park tomorrow (Saturday).

The Hammers have been without the playmaker since he sustained a knee injury in pre-season, but he has trained with the first team squad all week.

Slaven Bilic revealed: “Manuel started training with us without any restrictions this week. He was back with the squad on Monday, and he looks really sharp.

“Of course he’s hungry, because he was missing while he was injured and we are going to see what we think tomorrow [about his involvement].

“But he is definitely going to be involved in the squad, and we will see how much we use him. It’s a big boost and it’s good he and Cheikhou [Kouyate] are back. Cheikhou played 20 minutes [against Cheltenham] to see how he feels.

“He also looks sharp and that’s good for us. The players are all coming back now. It’s good for us to be fair.”

  1. Sounds promising – time to deliver!

  2. Some good news but be surprised if he started w limited training but Antonio did so he could. Need him a LW without Marko.
And a back 3 please. Feeling very nervous about next 2 games defensively.

  3. He needs to start the game ? No its or buts if he’s fit then he plays , so does chiek!!
3-5-2 for me , or 3-4-3 attack attack attack ,we can’t defend so go for it 😉

    • I like a 3-4-3 w
Adrian (but will be Hart bc Wages)
      Collins Rice Ogbonna
      Byram Masukau (Cressie)
      Kouyate Obaing
      Antonio Chicha Lanzini

That would be the strongest squad in my opinion

      • I would like to see out of availability

        Adrian
        Rice Collins ogbonna

        Antonio kouyate lanzini obiang massuaku

        Sakho. Pea

Barcodes have pace down the flanks Antonio and massuaku as wingbacks being covered by chieck and obiang in the middle ! Lanzini in the 10?
We need to go at them no let them come on ,😉

        • Antonio on RWB he is good there but best on wing full attack.
Sahko did look good on left at Cheltenham.
Just wonder if they will risk his health starting him and Bilic playing 2 up front only seen when behind with 20mims to go.
Byram think is good and agree Masuaku going fwd is great going fwd could honestly play LW.
If got a proper DCM and and CN partnership a 4-3-3 with Lanzini as #10 would be great but with our CBs or how they are coached a back 3 works better.
And everyone is doing it. Worked great for us last season at end so why leave it …… Oh right Zab

  4. Dont u think we need another creative midfielder cus wen Manny is injured we don’t have that someone to create out of nothing.

    • Yes kip ! Its blatant for all to see , no depth , lol ☺
Noble shouldn’t be nowhere near the first eleven , but he will be starting bet you’re bottom dollar , shocked if he doesn’t though ?

    • Akem Ziyech of Ajax would be my top pick AM 24 has 48 goals & 50 assists . looks premier class.
Jota would be 2nd and since we sent Snodgrass on loan and paying 35% of wages be mad not to bring in back up.
Brentford want £8m for Jota and he wants a move here only played once this season NC move speculation 1 year left but he subbed on and got 2 assists in 30m.RW is main position as was Snods and can play AM and add creativity 12 goals and 5 assists in 20 apps last season after return from LA Liga and Injury. And his wages wouldn’t be high

  5. Before this Carvahlo deal was known everyone were saying that our window was fantastic blah blah, now…. wow.. 100% turn around & it’s back to ‘we hate the owners’

  6. That’s a reasonable point to make , essexirons , but everyone knows we need to improve our midfield . We need a bit more quality in between the front line and the back line . That’s why we are , or were , pinning our hopes on the Carvalho deal . A decent defensive player transfer in January wouldn’t go amiss either . But it’s not all bad . Man Utd chewed us up and spat us out because we were biss poor . Against Southampton we made a tremendous effort and almost got something out of it . A bit of luck and might have done . That’s all done and dusted now though . I reckon we will see a stronger and confident display against Newcastle . 0 – 2 . And 3 points with clean sheet , nice .

  7. Am I right or have we offloaded more than we have brought in- even if you count Rice as a ‘new’ player?

If so then we are gonna be a thin squad. Heard Bilic say in an interview that the squad ‘is not thick’. Think he meant the same lol!!
