Lanzini insists: Hammers can win it all

Manuel Lanzini insists West Ham have the squad needed to win the Europa Conference League this season!

The Hammers attacking midfielder has been central to the club’s campaign in Europe thus far, playing in every game and scoring in the win over Silkeborg.

The Argentine and his team-mates are well aware that a win over Anderlecht on Thursday would secure qualification to the last-16 as group winners.

Of course, David Moyes’ side were within a whisker of glory last season, reaching the Europa League semi-final, only to be knocked out by eventual winners Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Irons would, of course, prefer to be playing in a higher competition than the Conference League but Lanzini believes that the squad is more than equipped to win the entire tournament.

Speaking to the club’s official website ahead of the Anderlecht game at the London Stadium, he said: “I think playing in the semi-final of the Europa League was a really good moment.

“I am sad because I thought we deserved more and we were unlucky in the last game because after 15 minutes we had one less player and in football now when you play with ten it’s very hard. For me, to go that far was very good.

“For me, we have a team who can go all the way [in the Conference League]. We must go step by step, but I think we can do it.”

The Hammers are unbeaten in the tournament thus far.
