Mark Lawrenson Prediction 2-0 to Southampton
“Southampton were a bit subdued in their draw with Fulham, but they were missing some key men in Oriol Romeu, Jannik Vestergaard and Danny Ings.
Vestergaard is out for a while by the sounds of things and the quicker Ings is fit, the better. At least Romeu will return in midfield after his suspension though.
I was a little bit surprised by the West Ham team that David Moyes put out against Brighton, and they didn’t start well either.
The Hammers still got something out of that game, but I think they will find things a lot harder against Saints.”
Fan’s predictions:
EXWHUEmployee: 1-1 Southampton have had a good start to the season and are hard to beat at home. If Moyes gets the deflection right more so than the Brighton game I can see it being a close game and 1-1 reflects this.
Stelios from Irons United: Difficult one to call. If Moyes fields a more creative team, we could win this. If he tries to go safe, we could lose. So let’s be positive and go with a creative 2-1 to West Ham
Sam Inkensole from Football London: I’m gonna go with a 1-1 draw. Can’t see the Hammers beating Saints but they do have a good record against them in recent seasons. We are starting to see some creaks in Moyes’ team but they should have enough about them to end the year with another point on the board.
Nigel Kahn from MooreThanJustAPodcast: Draw 1-1, The Saints are tight unit to get past and don’t concede many
Filmmaker and animator Canning Town: 2-1 to Saints, they are just due a win. Prove me wrong West Ham.
I really hope that West Ham United thrash Southampton today . Or at least come away with three points . Southampton are no better than us , and I would further adventure that we are the better team . Today we need to show our metal after a run of disappointing results against supposed lesser opposition . I do consider Southampton as lesser opposition . If Noble or Haller start we can say goodbye to a nice good year . Time for West Ham to wake up from their slumber and put in the performance we are all waiting for . Moyes got it wrong against Brighton and he was honest enough to admit it ,,, fair play to him . Today whoever is a different kettle of fish and mistakes will be highlighted . We need to close the Year on a High and today is our chance . We won’t get it right all of the time but 40 points is a must .
Come on you Hammers .
