Lawro v West Ham fans predictions

It’s that time of the week when West Ham take on Mark Lawrenson on his West Ham prediction.

This week the BBC pundit predicts a 2-0 loss for the Hammers telling his website readers

“Last weekend’s win at Burnley was massive for Newcastle, who now have a bit of breathing space above the bottom three.

I’m going for a bit of an upset here, partly because I think Newcastle usually pick up points in bursts and also because they also have Allan Saint-Maximin and Callum Wilson to come into their starting XI after the impact they made off the bench against the Clarets.

It has the makings of a decent game, anyhow. West Ham have developed a bit of a habit recently of going 3-0 up and being pegged back, but they held on to beat Leicester last week and hang on to fourth place for a while longer.

I am going for the Hammers to lose this time but I am sure they won’t mind – I also thought they would be beaten by the Foxes and, before then, Wolves, and I was wrong on both occasions.”

West Ham Till I Die blogger David  Hautzig agrees, saying “Newcastle 2, West Ham 1. When Wilson and Saint Maximin came on against Burnley it changed everything. They will start, we are often poor at St. James Park, and I still see us hiccuping against a side like that. But I’ve picked us to lose the last three and we won two and drew the other. So take heart in that.”

ITK EXWHUEmployee predicts a Hammers away win adding  “I think we will 1-2 whilst Newcastle have a little bit of form now these are the sort of teams that we need to beat if we are to get the champions league”

Stelios from Irons United agrees by saying  “Will our injuries upset our good run of form? Newcastle has the potential to be a banana skin. But, our squad has the ability to cause them problems. Third place here we come. West Ham to win 2-1″

Claret and Hugh Associate editor Sean Whetstone predicts another win too “man of the moment, Jesse Lingard will be thee main difference, he will bag another goal to take all three points, I will predict a tame 1-0 win, can’t be doing with going 3-0 up and conceding. Hopefully, the return of Ogbonna will steady the ship at the back!”
