Lawro’s FA Cup prediction

|

Mark Lawrenson has backed West Ham to progress to the fourth round of the FA Cup by beating Leeds this weekend.

The Hammers take on Marcelo Bielsa’s side this weekend in the third round of the competition, aiming to seal their progress in the world’s oldest cup competition.

There is likely to be plenty of rotation for both the Hammers and for Leeds.

And Lawro thinks that West Ham have the required depth to still go on and win the game, even if a fair few kids are chucked into the starting XI by David Moyes.

Giving a slew of predictions to the BBC, in his weekly predictions column, Lawro said: “West HamĀ andĀ Leeds meet again in the Premier League next week. I am guessing they will both make changes for this one and, although the Hammers need to add to their squad this month, I would still say they have more depth than Leeds right now.”

He has backed the Irons to win the game 2-0 and punch their ticket to the next round.

Of course, the Hammers will also play Leeds in the league the following weekend, after a clash with bottom club Norwich in midweek.
