Lawro’s prediction

Mark Lawrenson has backed West Ham to win this weekend!

In some truly shocking news, the ex-Liverpool legend has backed the Hammers to take all three points when they take on Wolves on Saturday.

Lawrenson does not usually back the Hammers to win but he believes that the talent on offer in David Moyes’ squad will simply prove too good for Bruno Lage’s side.

Indeed, the Hammers have not lost any of their last six games and headed into the international break on the back of a 3-2 win over Liverpool, moving them third in the Premier League table.

Wolves, by comparison, were beaten by Crystal Palace prior to the beginning of the break, and Lawro is expecting the Irons to get back to winning ways.

Speaking to BBC Sport in his weekly predictions column, Lawro said: “Wolves saw their good run ended with a home defeat by Crystal Palace and I think this will end up with a similar outcome.

“West Ham are sweeping all before them at the moment and they got an excellent win over Liverpool last time out. Tactically, the Hammers were almost perfect in that game too.”

A win for the Hammers could well move them level on points with Premier League leaders Chelsea, if they lose to Leicester.

Lawro’s prediction: Wolves 1-2 West Ham
